If you have never heard of Jim Rohn this will be a good start for you. Jim Rohn is considered America’s greatest business philosopher. Most of the great leaders today got there start listening to Jim Rohn tapes, reading his books… and many of them, like me, listen to him over and over again – I have a feeling you will too..
TAKE A MINUTE TO READ THIS AND CONSIDER WHETHER OR NOT YOU ARE CONTRIBUTING TO THE AVERAGE…
Here is an excerpt from Andy Andrew’s blog…
Quickly…examine your life and your results thus far. Your PERSONAL results…your finances…your employment prospects…your debt…what your next four years appears to look like…
Now, allow yourself to consider this unusual, but incredibly accurate, philosophy: If you are thinking like everyone around you is thinking, there might be something wrong. Why? Because everyone is not achieving extraordinary results. If you’re thinking like everyone else is thinking, you are only contributing to the average. Even if your results are a bit above average…they’re still average.
Do you want to be average? Do you want average financial results? Do you want an average marriage? Do you want to raise average children? Do you want to live in an average nation? Do you want a standard of living based upon the world’s average?
If you could wave a magic wand, you would make every part of your life’s results be wildly outside of average. Your life’s results in every area would be extraordinary!
Okay… If you want extraordinary results, then you’d better be very careful to avoid thinking like average people think. Why, you ask? Because if you think like the average person thinks, the results of that thinking will be…average.
It is simple logic. For you to create extraordinary results, yielding an extraordinary culture in which we can all live and thrive, you must think differently.
(In further posts we will discuss how associations and thinking patterns effect your life… stay tuned)
My favorite animal is the eagle.
How many of you know about eagles?
Did you know an Eagle can see a dime in a grassy field from 5 miles high in perfect detail?
An Eagle has the ability to fly and plunge into water to catch a fish and come out completely dry.
There is a certain season in an eagles life when he does a pruning, he goes into a cave to rip out old feathers. That’s why your here reading this.
Your ripping out old feathers. Your ripping out old thinking. Your ripping out old habits. Your ripping out old conversations from people who have told you what you can and can’t do.
When an eagle is flying and it sees another creature, it knows.. that other creature is an eagle because it knows no other creature can fly as high as an eagle.
Look in the mirror. Your looking at an eagle. Be significant. Never settle. Fly as high as possible. See you at the top.
(Ideas borrowed from a speech by James Adlam)
Chris Brady is one of my all time favorites. He’s hilarious, a great speaker, and awesome author, and a guy that just pumps me up.
Here is a good article he wrote on his blog – let me know what you think?
P.S. His book is called Rascal.
P.P.S. The book is very good but to be honest the audio CD that comes for free with the book – is even better. Pick it up if you can!
I was reading Tim Tebow’s book this morning and came across his mantra. It goes something like this…
“Somwhere he is out there, training while I am not. One day when we meet, he will win.”
As you know, I love quotes – but that one in particular really resonates with me. Maybe it reminds me of my days as an athlete or the fact that you can apply that concept to anything in life. Regardless of the reason – thanks Tebow.. epic mantra. Do you guys have any other good quotes?
I have this idea to create a group of superstars and possibly get their input to write a book. One thing I noticed tonight is that I have been very blessed to have been affected by some great people who have common characteristics which include:
Imagine if all of these people (who I haven’t mentioned yet) are in one room together. Imagine if all of them contribute to writing a book. Lives would be changed. New ideas would develop. Businesses might be formed.
The truth is some of the people I am thinking about are people I have relationships with. Some are famous. Some I have never met and only know through their best selling books.
In other words, this may seem like a massive undertaking. The end result may be a book, a mastermind group, a new business, it could be anything. I will have to pivot and adjust along the way. I WILL NEED YOUR HELP. Let’s begin…
I heard an interview with Chad Hymas today. I was blown away! This guy is extraordinary. He is a paraplegic with an amazing story and is considered among the top 10 inspirational speakers in the world. I just ordered his book “Doing What Must Be Done.” Does anyone want to read along with me so we can share ideas?
P.S. Check out the Video above of one of Chad’s keynote speeches.

P.S. Let me know what you think?
Starting a new business or project without reading a few key books to help your partners to get on the same page is like walking naked at night through a cactus field in the dessert – exactly… It’s not going to end well. What books do you think are must reads for your business partners?
“From testimonials and personal experience … we know that it’s possible … to live and design an extraordinary life”.
(Jim Rohn in Success Equations)
“It is not enough to be busy, so too are the ants. The question is, what are we busy about?”
Henry David Thoreau
Those of us pursuing great wealth sometimes have a hard time describing to others and to ourselves the reason we are pursuing money. Chris Brady does an awesome job explaining how are pursuits do not have to be greedy but can be unbelievably positive if you are in the game for the right reasons.
Chris Brady and Orrin Woodward describe the five levels of influence and how leaders can move from one level to the next. The five levels are explained in their book “Launching a Leadership Revolution.” Personally I think Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady are among the best in the word when it comes to personal development and leadership training. I have read all four of their books – LLR, Resolved, Life, and Rascal. I would highly recommend any of them. Start with Life if you want to get a feel for their principles – then move to Resolved (one of the best books I have ever read).
I typically only show short videos because I want this blog to be a quick stop for powerful information. However, I felt compelled to share this Randy Gage video because he recently released this recording of one of his seminar talks in order to help elevate the industry. He uses some of his same stories from other videos, but the overall presentation will give you some powerful ideas for your business.
This video blew me away. Alex Honnold climbs Yosemite without a rope, without a parachute, without any safety gear whatsoever. This is the ultimate testament to conquering fear. Imagine if we can learn from this video and apply its lessons into our lives, businesses, struggles, and successes.
As many of you know – I am a big Randy Gage fan. I recommend that you subscribe to his youtube channel because he consistently puts out great material. This video is a great example of how RG explains such simple concepts that are so powerful.
The bible says that if two or three come together, nothing is impossible. Not a thousand, just two or three. In the old testament it says that one can become so strong that he could defeat a thousand. If two come together they can defeat ten thousand – giving us the idea that two can multiply the power by 10. Not by 2, by 10.
This is an excerpt from my favorite Jim Rohn audio cd that changed my life.
I know some people who watch this video ever day. It never get’s old. It may take you to that next level.

One of Jim Rohn’s audio CDs I recently listened impacted my life in such a way that it will never be the same again – he has that kind of effect on people. I encourage you to watch part 1 (the video above) and parts 2 and 3 below to get a flavor of Jim’s message.

Here is an excerpt from the January 2012 edition of networking times. I really enjoyed how Val and Helen, two wildly successful professionals, explained the topics of “talking to strangers” and “prospecting”.
Talking to Strangers
It’s easier to talk to someone who trusts you than to a perfect stranger. That doesn’t mean we don’t talk to strangers. If someone walks through the front door to deliver a package or a service, we prospect them. We talk to every taxi driver whose car we get into. It’s second nature. If they show us the right signals, we prospect them, particularly when thy happen to be Indian. We say, “Where are you from? India? Oh, that’s fantastic. I’ve got a business that’s going India in a couple of weeks. We haven’t got much time, but here’s my business card. Let me write down your email address and phone number on this piece of paper. How do you spell your name? I’ll send you some information about what’s about to happen in India, and then I’ll call you so we can talk further.”
Prospecting
The reason we find prospecting so easy, while many people find it hard, is that we take the focus off ourselves and put it on the person we are talking to. A lot of people only want to talk about themselves, and the other person can sense that. We must take the focus off what we want and put it totally on the other person’s needs and goals. This is about what we can do for them, not what they can do for us. Yes, we would like to grow a much larger business and so we take every opportunity to prospect. It doesn’t matter what level or rank you are at, everybody needs to continuously prospect. It should become second nature, something to be enjoyed rather than feared, because every prospect is simply a friend you haven’t yet met. As leaders, we often have to teach prospecting skills to people who are in great need. Paradoxically, the only way they will get their own needs met is by putting others first.
When I came up with the subtitle (“think different”) for my blog, I may have been subconsciously referring tp Jordan Adler’s way of thinking and teaching. I am fascinated by Jordan’s unique way of approaching success. After watching this video, leave a comment below describing an idea that you think can cause a quantum leap in our business which is outside the realm of “how to”.
Amy Purdy talks about the power of imagination. She explains how our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but by the choices we make. Imagination allows us to break down borders, to move beyond our circumstances, to create and constantly progress.
Most people think that when you graduate college that is when learning ends, but successful people know that is when learning begins.
I’m known for saying “this is the most important concept you will ever learn” because I get very excited about certain game changing ideas. However, when it comes to Big Al, and the concept he describes in this video – I mean it. If this isn’t THE most important concept, then it is definitely in the top 5. Once you except the fact that all interactions are neutral, and start working on your own skills, your entire business will transform. Its no coincidence that I use Tom “Big Al” Schreiter’s training materials with all my new business partners. He is among the best teachers in the world.
I have watched dozens of Randy Gage videos, but I always return to this one because I love the simple concept in this video of trading time for money. You can use this video to help you with your own presentations. Pay close attention to Randy Gage – he is the most recognized person in network marketing for a reason.
Systems are one of the least talked about but most important topics for your business. I learned the concept in this video from Orjan Saele at the mastermind event in Houston. Orjan has 5% of the population of Norway in his organization! That stat always blows my mind.
